To enable tabbing off the field after scanning a barcode, you need to make the following changes:

Postamble setting

Settings | Scanners | Symbology Options | Postamble

Enter \t or \x09

Virtual Wedge Setting

Settings | Scanners | Virtual Wedge

Tick on "Use keyboard wedge"

Removing extra zero at the beginning of the barcode.

Settings | Scanners | Internal Scanner | Symbologies | EAN/UPC

untick "Transmit UPC-A as EAN-13

Problem solving - If your scanner stops working

Problem:

The scanner randomly stops working. Error message appears "Sorry, Scanner has stopped working".

When you press the scanner button no light comes out of the scanner.

Fix:

There is a patch / bug fix for this. Download the patch here.

Upgrade process:

1. Connect CN51 to PC. Using USB >Micro USB cable. (Plugged into bottom of charge cradle)

2. When the scanner is plugged into the computer it will show up under "Devices and Drives" in Computer.

Copy the patch to CN51>Internal Storage.

3. From the device open the Settings App > About Phone> System Updates.

4. The patch will show up in the list (it will probably be the only one in the list)

Click on it and run it. The device will restart during the install of the patch.

5. Once the device has restarted the patch will have been installed.

It is best practice to now delete the patch zip file from the "CN51>Internal Storage" directory.
