When opening a spreadsheet or document file for the first time, you may need to to associate the correct program with the file.

 

or if you receive this error message...  

                                                               

 

NOTE:        The error message will generally mean that Excel is trying to be accessed, but you do not have access to Excel. If you see "Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Worksheet" and "Microsoft Excel Worksheet" Types in your Documents library you need to highlight both file types and choose LibreOffice Calc as the default program.

 

 

 

 

Highlight a file type that you wish to open

 

Right mouse open with, and Choose default program

 

 

 

Select the program you wish to use to open the file, if you cannot find it under Recommended Programs, click the + (expand) button

 

 

Select ok, the file will now open using the correct program.
